If you have not seen Glenwood cemetery, you need to put this on your list of interesting things to do in Houston.  Built in 1871, it has served six generations of Houstonians.

Keith from the historical society gave us a wonderful, informative tour on Wednesday, Oct 21, about Houston’s history and the notable people who are buried there. Included among them are the last President of the Republic of Texas, Houston Mayors, along with founders of major oil companies, religious and professional leaders, and others who have made significant contributions to Houston. He also pointed out the grave of Sarah who was centuries before her time. She cross dressed so she could serve the Union Army during the Civil War as a soldier and a spy.

Laughter and great conversation were in abundance at Hughes Hangar after the tour where several other people joined in for dinner and drinks. Thank you to everyone who came out.
