On Thurs, Aug 13, six Rotarians(and a 15 year old future Rotarian) from D5790, D5770, and D5890 flew to Tegucigalpa, Honduras, to begin this year's trip:
The team had three major objectives:
1. Evaluate 400 filters to be deployed in the Auca area.
2. Evaluate 190 filters near Auca and the first semi-modern agricultural activity
in the history of La Mosquitia.
3. Determine the location for deployment of filters  - 400+ filters.

Our group traveled to Honduras and in the capital city, the political situation was seen but did not feel a threat.  We then traveled to the very remote communities where these three projects are taking part.

It was an experience that will not be forgotten.  The villages are very poor and the people struggling with life, but everyone had huge smiles on their faces.  It is heart warming that Rotary REALLY is making a difference to these communities.
