The Astros Foundation

Twila Carter enters her eighth season as Senior Vice President of

Community Affairs and Executive Director of the Astros Foundation. She
made the transition to baseball in 2011 with Jim Crane’s purchase of the
Astros franchise and has worked with The Crane Group in various
capacities since 1998. The Astros Foundation has received numerous
awards and recognition during her tenure.  In 2017, the foundation received
the Allan H. Selig Award for Philanthropic Excellence, Major League
Baseball’s highest honor and recognition of the charitable efforts of its
clubs. The award recognized the Community Leaders program, a
cornerstone initiative that supports youth baseball and softball throughout
Greater Houston.
Prior to her current role, Twila served as the project manager for many
Minute Maid Park renovations and the development of numerous projects
for Crane Capital Group, including the building of the Crane Worldwide
headquarters.
She currently serves on the boards of AVDA-Aid to Victims of Domestic
Abuse, Family Time Crisis and Counseling Center, The Texas Council on
Family Violence, USO Houston and the YMCA of Greater Houston. She
also serves on corporate advisory councils for Houston Area Women’s
Center and Barbara Bush Houston Literacy Foundation.  She was named
one of the 2017 Top 30 Influential Women of Houston, the 2016 Inspire
Women’s “Business Woman of the Year”, 2014 Kingwood Women of
Achievement for Community Service and received the 2013 State
Community Service Award from the Texas Daughters of the American
Revolution.
